On Wednesday, news broke that the young twosome, who started dating in 2009 after meeting on the set of the movie "The Last Song," are betrothed. The Australian actor spent a nice chunk of his "Hunger Games" paycheck to purchase the Neil Lane engagement ring, which boasts a 3.5-carat diamond set in an 18-karat gold band, featuring carved diamond floral motifs in an art nouveau pattern.

But in real life, the 26-year-old actress says that before The CW show began in 2007, she was really into much, much more affordable threads ... like 25 cent sweaters. "My friend says that before the show I dressed like a homeless person," Meester reveals in the latest issue of Lucky magazine. "I used to buy everything at garage sales. It was hard to give up! I'd be like, 'But this crazy sweater is amazing, and it only cost 25 cents!' But after five seasons as B, Meester admits that some of her character's high-fashion tastes have rubbed off on her. "I've learned from Blair, though. Now I like to pepper in something designer with my usual stuff."

"I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph," she complains. "I get some serious s--t about it. I'm not embarrassed about it. I'm proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think,' What an actress! What a faker!' That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like s--t in half my photos, and I don't give a f--k. What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, 'She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.' I don't care about the voracious, starving s--t eaters who want to turn truth into s--t."

The reality star wore the exact same belly-baring black lace Pucci gown that Gwyneth Paltrow did to the 2011 Emmys for a party Diddy threw aboard a yacht in Cannes, France, on Tuesday night. But she definitely didn't win the fashion faceoff against the Oscar winner. Yes, we love Kardashian's curves (and who doesn't?), but they didn't really make the dress look the most complimentary on her body. Also, her huge chandelier earrings were a bit of a distraction from the busy dress. In comparison, Paltrow went for a very simple look when she rocked the Pucci creation: understated jewelry and her sleek blond hair left down. It's pretty shocking that Kardashian would even dare to wear the same dress, especially since Paltrow made such a splash last September when she stepped out in the very memorable look -- which landed her at the top of many best-dressed lists.
