    • ‘Bride Wars’: Anne vs. Kate

Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson color-coordinated for the NYC premiere of "Bride Wars." - Stephen Lovekin/GettyImages.comAnne Hathaway and Kate Hudson posed for photographers last night at the Big Apple premiere of their new flick "Bride Wars." Although the movie is about two BFFs who become rivals after they both schedule their weddings on the same day, the color-coordinated actresses looked like a couple ready to take a walk down the aisle themselves as they clutched hands on the blue carpet.

Kate (as the bride) donned a black-and-white Oscar de la Renta gown that made her look like a real-life Barbie doll, while Anne (the groom) rocked a retro hairdo reminiscent of the 1960s with her black double-breasted blazer and pencil-legged pants.

While both actresses are undoubtedly beautiful, I thought Anne really made the menswear-inspired look work for her. Adding sex appeal to the overall ensemble were her bright red nails and silver Christian Louboutin platforms!

Check out "Access Hollywood's" interview with Anne and Kate at the premiere below:

    • First Lady Fashion Face-Off

In the latest episode of "The Thread," host Sarah Bernard asks the hottest fashion question of election season: are you a Cindy or a Michelle? Both potential First Ladies are smart, outspoken...and for a pair of politicos, super stylish!

Cindy McCain appears at the Republican National Convention with First Lady Laura Bush. - INFdaily.comMichelle Obama is joined by daughters Malia and Sasha after her speech at the Democratic National Convention. - ABC/Ida Mae Astute

Cindy McCain, wife of Republican candidate John McCain, opts for pricey pieces such as the Oscar de la Renta dress she wore during her speech on day 1 of the Republican Convention. Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic candidate Barack Obama, tends to choose less expensive garments, including a dress from budget retailer H&M worn to a recent campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan. However, Michelle tapped Chicago-based designer Maria Pinto when selecting her turquoise convention dress.

Cindy has a knack for picking impeccably tailored skirt suits in rich colors, inline with fashionable Republican First Ladies like Nancy Reagan. Michelle knows how to flatter her statuesque figure with sheath dresses in bold prints and colors. The simple-yet-chic style has

    • Celebs Go Vintage

I tend to shy away from vintage shops. While I adore retro fashions, I must admit that the musty smells associated with buying second-hand clothing kind of turn me off. In 2003, Summer Phoenix (wife of Casey Affleck and sister of River and Joaquin), Odessa Whitmire (Ben Affleck's former assistant and Matt Damon's ex-girlfriend), and Ruby Canner opened a different kind of boutique in NYC specializing in "repurposed vintage" clothing called Some Odd Rubies.

At the opening for their new Los Angeles store last night, Phoenix told Fashion Week Daily that she and her friends "always went hunting in thrift stores, pinning and cutting our finds, and we always said we'd do a line of clothing." And that's exactly what they did. The trio takes vintage pieces, which they deconstruct and rework to fit current styles and different body types. "Every piece is one of a kind, so you won't see anybody else in your dress," adds Odessa. "And we'll take your old things and refurbish them for you, too."

    • Beyonce vs. J.Lo in the Battle of the Bangs

Bangs are all the rage this spring -- especially with celebs! Everyone from Beyonce Knowles to Jennifer Lopez is rocking them. While Jen's wispy bangs complement her new layered 'do perfectly, the "Irreplaceable" singer has been out and about sporting blunt bangs with her stick-straightened locks. I think both looks are fab, but for some reason I dig that Beyonce's bangs give her an edgier style. I only wish I had enough guts to cut my bangs back in, but it took me waaaaay too long to grow them out in the first place! I don't think I have the patience to go through that again. If only I had my own personal stylist...

    • Hilary Duff Designs for DKNY Jeans

Hilary Duff struts her stuff in perfectly fitted jeans and a cute striped top. - Turner/Splash NewsThe economy may be in recession, but the fashion industry is absolutely bullish about celebrity clothing lines. The latest star to hop on the fashion bandwagon is Hilary Duff. The actress/singer/fashionista(?) is teaming up with iconic New York label DKNY Jeans to create a fall "collection of special pieces."

According to a DKNY Jeans press release, the line, called Femme for DKNY Jeans, will feature "sweater tunics with removable cowl scarves, tees with detachable and printed necklaces, charmeuse cozies that layer like scarves, [and] skinny jeans with adjustable belt loops for thin or wide belts." Although I'm not really into the idea of detachable necklaces, I love the adjustable belt loops!

Regardless, the big question is: Will anyone be able to afford celebrity designer clothes during these tough times? Perhaps. Duff's items will start at a reasonable $39 and go up to $129. Not exactly Target prices, but pretty good for a fashion label.

Based on Hilary's style, the collection

    • Who Looked Hotter in Their Herve Leger?

This week two young stars were spotted wearing the same one-shoulder Herve Leger bandage dress, which retails for $1,490. Heidi Montag wore the gorgeous champagne creation to "The Hills" premiere party on Monday, while Kiely Williams of the Cheetah Girls fame donned it at last night's L.A. premiere of "The House Bunny."

Herve Leger's form-fitting frocks are definitely not for everyone (like for those of us who eat!), but I think both Heidi and Kiely easily pull off the style thanks to their fab physiques. And although Heidi punched up her look with a fuschia clutch, I kind of like that Kiely went accessory-less and opted to let the dress speak for itself.

    • Who Looked Hottest at Us Weekly’s Bash?

Us Weekly threw its annual Hot Hollywood Style bash at LA hot spot My House Wednesday night. While there were lots of style standouts, check out four of our favorite looks:

Fergie -- Us' style icon of the year -- revealed that her all-black ensemble was a "very high-low creation" consisting of an "Alexander McQueen for Target vest over a DSquared dress and Neil Lane Diamonds."

Lauren Conrad -- who told Us she was skipping Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's weekend wedding -- rocked the red carpet in a 3.1 Philip Lim dress. How'd she pick the frock? "Because I thought it was cute!" she laughed.

Oscar-nominee Taraji P. Henson dazzled in a vintage Emanuel Ungaro dress with Azzedine Alaia boots, while former "NYPD Blue" star Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon dressed up her white draped gown with a bright statement necklace.

    • Who Looked Hotter in Her LBD?

Paris Hilton at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Miami. - Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage.comVanessa Hudgens and Paris Hilton have more in common than appearing on the internet sans clothing. Both actress/singers (and I'm being generous to Paris here) were snapped on the red carpet in a super-cute Jenny Packham little black dress.

Vanessa Hudgens hits the "High School Musical 3" Melbourne premiere. - Lucas Dawson/Getty Images Paris paired the frock with a tight headband around a slightly bouffant 'do, a blingtastic necklace and a chunky cocktail ring. Vanessa let the dress sparkle on it's own, keeping things relatively simple with a long necklace and sexy/messy coif. So which young Hollywood hottie do you think sizzled more?

    • Kohl’s Rocks out With Avril Lavigne

Avril Lavigne celebrates the launch of her new Kohl's clothing line: Abbey Dawn. - FilmMagic.comPop-punk princess Avril Lavigne is making her first foray into fashion--and it's affordable! Her new juniors clothing line, Abbey Dawn, ranges in price from $24-$58 and is sold exclusively in Kohl's stores. Although I'm typically not a fan of the moody singer, if I were a teen on a budget (what teen isn't?) I might be moved to purchase some of her pieces, which feature lots of skulls, studs, and animal print.

Check out this "Access Hollywood" interview with Avril, who shows off her favorite items from the collection and also reveals that Abbey Dawn was her childhood nickname.
