Taboo, of the Black Eyed Peas fame, is known to be a shoe junkie (he claims to have over 700 pairs!), that's why it's no surprise that he's decided to get into the sneaker biz. Last night, the rapper/break dancer was joined by his bandmates to celebrate the launch of his new Taboo X Jump shoe collection in NYC.
Taboo, whose given name is Jaime Gomez, collaborated with Jump Footwear to create the luxury kicks, which will be sold exclusively at select Saks Fifth Avenue locations. In February, look for them to hit shelves in other high-end shops.
"The moment I wore my first pair of Jump shoes I knew there was something extra fresh and unique about them," Taboo tells Women's Wear Daily. "It went perfectly with my style and it had such a great fit while I performed on stage. I'm so honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with such a great company."
The high-tops are available in four styles, and include features such as zippers and fake lizard trim, but they don't come cheap. You can pick up a pair for $298.
