Currently, she's shepherding a cult-like following playing crisis manager Olivia Pope on ABC's "Scandal."

This year, however, that pre-gala period had a black cloud hanging over it as the unthinkable was announced: Kim Kardashian would be attending this year's event.

That's right. The much-maligned reality star somehow landed an invitation to the fashion world's biggest night, where A-listers like Gwyneth Paltrow and Katie Holmes rub elbows with fabled designers -- from Diane Von Furstenberg to Vivienne Westwood and Vera Wang -- and fashion plates like Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively.

The mom-to-be hit the red carpet Monday night with her baby daddy Kanye West, and while "Punk: Chaos to Couture" was the theme for the evening, it looked like Kardashian had mistakenly thought it was "gardening."

As pretty as she looked -- a vision in cobalt Stella McCartney, really -- we can't imagine anyone would really want to sidle up to the frighteningly large, spiked belt wrapped around her waist.

The dress seemed demure enough with a reverse cape-like creation draped over her shoulders and all, but the sharp metal in the middle was enough to torture someone "Game of Thrones" style.

Diaz, 40, kept the studded motif going all the way down to her toes, where she rocked a pair of platform stud sandals.

At least the "Bad Teacher" actress knew what she was talking about when it came to the punk theme, unlike many of her contemporaries.

The “Live with Kelly and Michael” host showed off his impressive bod with a snapshot from the gym on Monday. Trainer Latreal Mitchell tweeted the photo writing, “So proud of my client @michaelstrahan @KellyandMichael 4 maintaining 7% BF! Ready 4 summer! #ripped #lean #cleaneating."

But the talk show host hasn't always sported those rock hard abs. The 41-year-old daytime charmer opened up in the March 2013 issue of Men's Fitness about his past weight struggles and even admitted that his brothers used to pick on him for his size. "They'd laugh at me, and I didn't get it. I'm 13 years old at the time, and then one day my brother's friend says, 'You know what Bob stands for? Booty on back. You're fat.' Like my butt was so big I could reach for my wallet over my shoulder."

The 30-year-old Oscar winner, whose brunette coif has pretty much remained the same color for all of her storied career, turned up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York City rocking a brand new hue to go with her vintage Valentino.

No word yet if any particular project inspired such a change, but the drastic measure certainly was in line with the evening's punk theme. In fact, the star claimed her inspiration for the night was rocker Debbie Harry.

Is Catelynn Lowell dissing former "Teen Mom" co-star Farrah Abraham's sex tape?

That appeared to be the case when Lowell sent a cryptic tweet about an unnamed person on the very day that Abraham's sex tape, "Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom," was released.

"All I have to say Is she sounds like a dying horse!!" wrote Lowell, the mother of Carly, whom she gave up for adoption. "U kno who I'm talking about."

The tweet was punctuated with an emoticon laughing so hard it was in tears.
