Amy Winehouse Arrested On Drug Charge

OSLO, Norway (October 19, 2007) - Embattled songstress Amy Winehouse was arrested on Thursday in Norway for marijuana possession, according to People.

Acting on a tip "from a good source," authorities arrested Winehouse, 24, and husband Blake Fielder-Civil, along with another male around 6 PM in Bergen's Radisson SAS Hotel, a law enforcement source told People.

Police reportedly found .25 ounces of marijuana in the singer's room.

After being held for about 12 hours in separate cells, the three were eventually fined and released.

Winehouse and her husband paid a 500 euro fine ($714), while the other male (who is a member of the singer's touring entourage) paid a 350 euro fine ($500).

A law enforcement source told People Winehouse and her husband were "very cooperative."

The arrest is just the latest chapter in the singer's recent troubles.

On August 8, Winehouse was rushed to a hospital and treated for exhaustion. As a result, she cancelled several of her subsequent shows. Weeks later, a British newspaper splashed photos of Winehouse bloody and after she allegedly had a fight with her husband.

In late August, her father-in-law told fans to boycott Winehouse's music until she sought help for what he called a drug addiction. Giles Fielder-Civil said he believed Winehouse and his son (aka her husband) had used cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin and were in "abject denial" about their problem.

The next day, her U.S. record label, Universal Republic Records, announced all of her U.S. concert dates were being cancelled.

The label released a statement to Access Hollywood saying, "In a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse's well being, in addition to the postponement of her U.S. tour, all other U.S. appearances have been cancelled."
